I worked with double major dance students to highlight their varied academic interests along with coverage of classes and faculty participation. The Humans of the Libraries photo story celebrates the student employee class of 2026. We are so proud of their accomplishments and the energy they have brought to our branches.

Graduating senior Senior Scott Groome found community, received training and grew as a leader by joining the UNC Naval ROTC. During his final year on campus, Groome served as battalion commanding officer, overseeing roughly 40 midshipmen and enlisted Marines in the unit. Following graduation, Groome will head to Pensacola, Florida, to train as a student naval aviator.

Shane Stiles ’00 opened his first Stiles Switch BBQ & Brew in Austin with one simple goal — to bring outstanding, authentic craft barbecue to the Texas capital. Today, he has three locations in the Hill Country and a reputation for making some of the best barbecue around.

Tucked away at the back of Texas A&M-RELLIS, some of the university’s most exciting robotics research takes place, helping shape the future of space exploration through groundbreaking technology.

As the immersive week on Jekyll Island nears its end, 11 students gather in the pre-dawn June light on Driftwood Beach. The striking landscape, renowned for its gnarled, sun-bleached driftwood stretching from sand to sea, fills with the quiet bustle of the students setting up their easels and watercolor palettes in the early morning light. 

The Chinese zodiac says 2026 is the year of the horse. 2026 also kicks off the 25th anniversary year of the founding of the eight-time NCE championship-winning UGA equestrian program.

This essay documents the behind the scenes as well as the competition of the spring season of the UGA Equestrian program. Including early season meets all the way to falling in the semifinals of the national championship.
