FANGV Robotics hosted a Robot in 3 Days (Ri3D) competition at the Shape Corp. Innovation Design Center on February 15.

Van Andel Arena was filled with over 1,000 graduates alongside their supporters, faculty and staff as the GVSU community celebrated the Fall 2024 graduating class.

For more than a year, Jake Short has been developing and nurturing his plan for the newest athletics program at Grand Valley — women’s wrestling.

Short, who was named the first head coach of the emerging squad in August 2023, said he felt an immediate connection to GVSU from his first visit.

The collective work of Short, his wrestlers and the Grand Valley Athletics Department came to fruition on November 16. The Lakers hosted their inaugural dual meet, taking on Northern Michigan at the Fieldhouse Arena.

Eight GVSU students braved the elements for Ice Fest, the nation’s longest-running ice climbing festival, to climb frozen waterfalls along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

The first snow of winter 2024 came on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. By sheer luck, my husband and I were not visiting family this year and I could slip away to capture the nearly 4" that fell. It also happened to be a home football game so many a fan were out and about. 

Beekeepers work to stabilize an indoor bee colony after an egg-laying frenzy by the queen this year led to more bees than honey to support the hive.
