AS 2024 COMES TO A CLOSE, TAKE A LOOK BACK AT THE YEAR THAT WAS.

Robert W. Keane has always had a deep appreciation for art, which began in childhood. While attending parochial school, he won a drawing contest organized by the nuns, earning him free art classes as a reward.

Though his love for art remained strong, Keane ultimately pursued a career in science. He earned a Ph.D. in genetics from the University of California, Davis, then completed postdoctoral research at Massachusetts Institute of Technology before joining the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Less than a day before his debut fashion show was scheduled to start in an event space in Manhattan’s Garment District, designer Jack Richard ’25 was scrambling to finish accessorizing the collection in the Lyons Arts Lab workshop space on the third floor of the Runnals Building. 

“Feel the fear and do it anyway!”

This was Molly Majewski’s mantra as she pushed the boundaries of her comfort zone during a winter session class last month.

“I’m very proud of this team. They’ve exceeded all expectations this year.” - UB Head Coach Pete Lembo.

We did an exposure page of my favorite photos to celebrate my retiring after 16 1/2 years at the university.  There were favorites and then there were FAVORITES.  I finally had to stop myself.
