The 2025–2026 academic year marked a defining chapter on the Hilltop, shaped by meaningful achievements and transformative experiences. Across disciplines and communities, students rose to challenges, expanded their academic pursuits and advanced efforts centered on equity, leadership and social impact. We proudly recognize 10 outstanding Presidential Award recipients who have transformed their St. Edward’s experiences into lasting impact — advancing their own journeys while uplifting others and contributing meaningfully to their communities and beyond.

I worked with double major dance students to highlight their varied academic interests along with coverage of classes and faculty participation. The Humans of the Libraries photo story celebrates the student employee class of 2026. We are so proud of their accomplishments and the energy they have brought to our branches.
Graduating senior Senior Scott Groome found community, received training and grew as a leader by joining the UNC Naval ROTC. During his final year on campus, Groome served as battalion commanding officer, overseeing roughly 40 midshipmen and enlisted Marines in the unit. Following graduation, Groome will head to Pensacola, Florida, to train as a student naval aviator.
Shane Stiles ’00 opened his first Stiles Switch BBQ & Brew in Austin with one simple goal — to bring outstanding, authentic craft barbecue to the Texas capital. Today, he has three locations in the Hill Country and a reputation for making some of the best barbecue around.
Tucked away at the back of Texas A&M-RELLIS, some of the university’s most exciting robotics research takes place, helping shape the future of space exploration through groundbreaking technology.
