UGA's computer science majors joined an immersive study abroad program in England through Connect Abroad. Connect Abroad is a University of Georgia initiative to make spring break trips a source of career preparedness and cultural learning. Students on the Computing in England trip learned about British codebreakers and cryptography in Bletchley Park, visiting leading computer companies, and connected with industry experts. "This experience really opened my eyes to all the possibilities that I can do with CS." 

 

This was a commercial that ran on local channels and was published on social media to encourage fans to come to the regional NAIA baseball tournament hosted by LSUS. The LSUS baseball team went undefeated on the season and won the NAIA World Series.

When Colby Ruiz of Valdosta, Georgia, left for college at the University of Georgia, he promised he wouldn’t forget where he came from. After graduating from UGA in 2015 and earning his M.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Ruiz returned to Valdosta to practice medicine.

UGA's Interdisciplinary Field Program mixes geology, ecology, and anthropology into an epic road trip across America. Students travel through 21 states and to 23 national parks and monuments—including the Grand Canyon, Muir Woods, Mount Saint Helens, and Yellowstone National Park—and log nearly 12,000 miles on the road, and then tack on another 100 miles or so hiking on foot.

Marc Moore’s story is a testament to his dedication, and showcases the simultaneously welcoming and ambitious nature of the Mississippi State community. This video recounts Marc’s journey from being unhoused in Starkville, to graduating with his Ph.D. from Mississippi State.
