Thanks and Gig 'Em to everyone who has supported our goal to create a diverse, well-rounded student body ready to tackle the most pressing issues faced by the agriculture and life sciences!

Students in the Department of Rangeland, Wildlife and Fisheries Management, will have opportunity to use various field techniques and statistical analyses to provide quantitative insight into the world of Eastern Fox squirrels -- one of eight squirrel species that call Texas A&M University campus home. These bushy-tailed, campus rodents provide the perfect opportunity to integrate accessible, field-based monitoring with academic coursework. A total of 12 squirrels will be captured across campus by trained personnel to mitigate stress on the animals.

In the canine world, Livestock Guardian Dogs are the best of the best. Protecting a wide range of animals, these specially trained superstars not only protect livestock but deter predators. Research at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in San Angelo has a program dedicated to these furry professionals and the success of having them on a rancher's team. The use of livestock guardian dogs has increased the survival rate of baby sheep/lambs and baby goats/kids – an often easy meal for predatory wildlife.
