Since its launch in 1990, the Integrated Sports and Leisure course, an elective in the Department of Physical Therapy, has given nearly 1,000 students insight into the world of adaptive sports, communicating with people with disabilities and transitioning skills from the classroom to the real world.

As a remote college campus nestled in the mountains, WCU relies on the CAT-TRAN bus system to transport students to their dorms, class, and also to town. Wetland Ecology and the Value of Craft (ENSP 2349) course isn't your typical university class. ENSP 2349 is a topics course in the Environmental Science and Policy department, designed to be a hands-on experiential learning class led by Steven Fletcher, Associate Professor of Secondary Education. Over the course of the semester, 11 Environmental Science and Policy students built four canoes and used these vessels on field visits around the Hill Country and the Gulf Coast to explore and study fresh and saltwater wetland ecosystems.
The Fort Worth Chamber recognized Texas Christian University with the Spirit of Enterprise Award at its 2024 annual meeting. The award, presented by American Airlines, recognizes local enterprises for outstanding contributions to the development of the Fort Worth community.
