Mariah Robinson poses for a portrait while wearing her bee beard. Students in Judy Wu-Smart’s UNL Bee Lab took an afternoon away from bee keeping to have some fun and create bee beards. Cotton is stuffed in their ears and nose to keep the bees out. The hive's queen is placed in a small cage about the size of a pill bottle and hung on a string around the person's neck.  The rest of the hive is then coaxed to hang onto the person. Mariah is also an Army ROTC cadet.
