Tiny worlds stir as you pause.

Tucked along the quiet shores of Mozingo Lake, the Mozingo Outdoor Education Recreation Area (MOERA) offers 320 acres of outdoor adventure and discovery. Operated by Campus Recreation, it’s a place where Bearcats come together to climb, paddle, explore, and learn through hands-on experience.
The Climbing Course challenges participants to reach new heights, literally and figuratively. Featuring the Alpine Tower, Odyssey III high ropes course, and Carolina Climbing Wall, it encourages teamwork, communication, and confidence while keeping the experience fun and supportive.
As a Harvard athlete, senior Olivia Hogan-Lopez sees her home on the water, a place where she can connect with nature and chase excellence with her teammates on the boat. As a Harvard student, Hogan-Lopez wants to protect and preserve that home through research.
Over the last several months, Hogan-Lopez has conducted research on the impact of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances, commonly known as PFAS, on humans and the environment. PFAS is found in everyday products ranging from rain jackets to water bottles and non-stick pans.
