On Monday, January 19, Student Leadership and Civic Engagement celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by providing service to community locations and taking “a day on, not a day off." 37 students, faculty, staff, and friends of UIC served at 2 sites across Chicago. Volunteers gave nearly 129 hours of service to organizations that resulted in an economic impact of over $4,507.

The Fall 2025 graduating class at Metropolitan State University of Denver celebrated its achievement at the university’s Commencement ceremonies in Denver. Led by President Janine Davidson, the ceremonies recognized 1,061 expected graduates between the morning and afternoon events. The total includes 120 associate graduates, 853 undergraduates and 88 master’s graduates. More than 50% of undergraduates are students of color, 56% are first-generation college graduates and 67% are transfer students. The class also includes 60 military veterans.
