Associate professor William Browne has never backed down from a challenge. Growing up in a military family, he joined the Marines after high school, initially planning to pursue a career in the military. But after a training accident left him with twisted vertebrae, Browne's life took an unexpected turn. With a long-standing fascination for science, he decided to pursue a Ph.D. in molecular genetics and cell biology, marking the beginning of his journey into academia.

Graduate student Aidan O’Brien and his colleagues are working to assess the impact of climate change on amphibians and reptiles in the Florida Everglades. The students spend their day in the muddy waters and marshes collecting salamanders and conducting their research in the 80-acre Loxahatchee Impoundment Landscape Assessment, an experimental area at the edge of the Everglades, just west of Boynton Beach, built and managed by the South Florida Water Management District.

Dr. Brian Byrd and his students travel to Yosemite National Park to help a WCU alum, Dr. George Carroll, conduct mosquito surveillance in the park. Their goal is to determine what species of mosquitos are present with a warming climate.

This project was  done to highlight the class of 2024 TAMU Veterinarian students. I planned, produced, directed and edited this video by myself. Their class president was an amazing violinist and we recorded his violin part in a recording studio and matched it with him playing it in the main building of the vet school. He  gave a great speech and I took excerpts from his speech to make the first dedicated class video for the vet school.

Randall Harris began in the WCU music program as an undergrad, found his passion in the recording studio, then pursued his graduate degree. He shares his amazing story of becoming a rockstar drummer for NEEDTOBREATHE. Randall touches on the importance of a proper educational foundation and stresses how important that became in every aspect of his current profession.
