Trevor Stephens, Marine Corp veteran and a sophomore in secondary education, walks along Highway 93 westbound from Treynor, Iowa. during the sixth annual "The Things They Carry Ruck March", which began at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa, Nov. 17, and finishes at UNL's Memorial Stadium on Friday, November 25. The march, which is organized by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Student Veterans and University of Iowa Veterans Association organizations, is centered on raising awareness of the epidemic of veteran suicide. Each volunteer walks 20 miles and carries 20 pounds in their ruck to symbolize the 20 veterans who commits suicide each day. The marchers also carried a symbolic game ball for the Husker-Hawkeye match-up.
