After much rescheduling, the Field Sciences program was able to burn the campus prairie... on the same day as our institution's Founders Day Celebration (of course). I was able to book it down there for the second half of the burning. In the process, I managed to catch this shot of Roe R. Cross Award-winning professor, Bill Jensen, with a gas can, crossing into a portion of the unburned land to remedy that issue.
During the annual Glass Guild Blowout, a visiting artist is assisted by an alum of the program. She brought a small glass bubble on the end of her pipe over to the artist, and he is placing it atop the stem of a goblet they are creating together, while an audience watches in awe. Glassblowing is an incredibly community-oriented medium, and this image highlights that.
