Alumnus and Navy Captain Victor Glover is now a household name after making history as the pilot of NASA’s Artemis II mission. He and his crewmates traveled farther than any other humans in history as they circled the moon in April and made strides toward establishing a lunar base for more long-range exploration of our solar system. In anticipation of his mission, Cal Poly featured a portrait of Glover on the cover of the fall 2025 issue of Cal Poly Magazine, which focused on Cal Poly’s connection to space exploration. The cover was a memorable gateway to a unique story that explored how Glover’s perspective and ambition were formed while earning his Cal Poly degree.
