Each year the biggest horse race is run just a short walk from our campus. Churchill Downs can be seen from our football stadium and the baseball stadium often attracts racing fans coming or going less than a block away. We love to brag on the fastest two minutes in sports. This event draws hundreds of thousands of spectators from all over the world, and the nearly week long party commences with a two minute race. Louisville is home to many unique qualities and happenings, but this one is by far the biggest.

Boston-based artist Cedric Douglas works on a new public art installation on campus, as seen through newly planted yellow tulips. 

Quadrangle residence hall, the University's second oldest, is scheduled to be demolished this summer. The building's gates, which say "Quad" are slated to be preserved and displayed somewhere else on campus once they are removed from the building.
