We shot a portrait of James "Lap" Baker, a civil rights activist and JSU alum, for an upcoming series of stories we are doing commemorating the tumultuous uprising on JSU' campus on May 15, 1970 when state law enforcement converged on the campus resulting in the deaths of JSU student Phillip Lafayette Gibbs, and a local high school student, James Earl Green.
