Canada is in the midst of discovering the truths of our recent history and reconciling what was done to and taken from the indigenous people who were here first. This is a portrait of one of our University's indigenous leaders which will run with an article in the Alumni Magazine discussing Indigenous Land Acknowledgments. 
She is very open to the camera in this shot.  I love soft but bright light and even though she is in the shade, her eyes are starting to tear up because of the brightness.  She held her gaze and I love the intensity of her eyes behind the tears.

Graduate of the Building Future program, Andre Gaitlin, walks through a hall in the new performing arts center as construction progresses. The university has a long standing relationship with the program, which helps provide people looking to enter the trades an avenue into well paying jobs, requiring that a percentage of new construction hours on campus go to student in the program. 

Physics professor Louise Edwards is the principal investigator of a nearly $1 million National Science Foundation grant.  She heads a team that is working directly with the Vera C. Rubin Observatory Project to help investigate far-away regions of the universe.
