“Hearing everyone’s perspectives gets you to think deeply about things,” said Laurie Rikkers. Rikkers, a community member, said she found the Philosophy in Nature series on Facebook and has attended a few of the events.

Five Philosophy in Nature events, organized by Pelayo and with support from the Philosophy Department, allowed participants to read passages from works related to the theme of that session, such as wind or animals, as well as participate in other projects with a humanities focus. The goal was to build community and appreciate the humanities while enjoying the natural beauty of nature.
