UM-Dearborn student Myron Wood, who spent 30 years in prison, is interviewed after being recognized as a 2026 Difference Maker for his leadership, mentorship and commitment to supporting others on campus and in the community. Wood uses his experiences to advocate for personal growth, resilience and second chances. “I want the skills to help people that no one else can help,” he said. “I want the knowledge to reach them in ways that see them where they are and reach out to them in a way that they will receive me.”
