Animating Hope: Izaak and Bertie Cohen's Puppet Theater shares a story of bravery, resilience, and courage in the face of horrific circumstances. During the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, Izaak (Ike) and Bertha (Bertie) Cohen hid in Rotterdam. Concealed in the upstairs apartment of Nico Dane and Gien Dane-Verkouter, the couple were often forced to hide in a narrow closet behind a staircase. They spent over two years in hiding under these dangerous conditions – often needing to hide from Gien’s own children who lived in the house alongside them without knowledge of the Cohens.

This video was created as part of the university-wide fundraiser, "Gator Giving Day."

Sarah Tapia carved her own path through Graduate School at Texas Tech, culminating with a hike through history at the Grand Canyon. In doing so, she helped create a new pathway for future students to follow and make their own.

This piece follows an incredible student opportunity through our Division of Student Success, where MAPS graduates are offered the option to experience a subsidized trip abroad focused on experiential cultural learning. This short documentary was produced by a team of one. 

Following a historic 31–0 regular season, Miami’s postseason hopes were suddenly in jeopardy after a first-round exit in the conference tournament. Just 24 hours before the NCAA Selection Committee was set to make its final selections, I was tasked with creating a video that would advocate for an at-large bid and remind decision-makers why this team belonged in the tournament.
