For associate professor Juan Pablo de Rivero Vaccari, the practice of Iaido is a form of meditation in motion, where discipline and attention to detail guide every movement. Over time, he has learned to apply these skills in his lab at the Miller School of Medicine, approaching experiments with calm, precision, and care. In his classroom, he mirrors martial arts instruction, giving students new challenges only when they are ready.

Raising Everyone UP: An Unforgettable Night of Community on the Court shares the story of how a college community came together to highlight, encourage and celebrate the University Participant (UP) Program at Western Carolina University - giving students with learning disabilities the chance to take the court as athletes and cheerleaders alongside their fellow students. Dr. Rouquette is employed by Texas A&M AgriLife Research and has worked at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Overton since October, 1970. He conducts basic and translational research on nutritive parameters and defoliation regimens of warm-season perennial grasses and cool-season annual grasses and legumes. Currently, his pasture research program represents the longest continuous stocking experiments with improved forages and nutrient cycling in the U.
