This single exposure was achieved by changing the focus during a long-exposure. I first started by focusing on the alligator itself. Then flashed the gator at the beginning of the 30-second exposure. After the flash, I then proceeded to quickly change the focus to the stars in order to achieve the final photo. I assume that the ghosting that is present around the gator and rocks is due to the aperture and the changing of the focus.
