Spring time is special in Cajun country. Swamps, rice fields, and crawfish ponds draw many wading birds to our area. Now with nesting season upon us the swamp trees is for the birds. There are literally thousands of Egrets and other birds competing for nesting space above the swamp water. This image is mom with fresh food from nearby fields to give to her fiercely hungry chicks.

The Iowa state capitol is framed by illuminated hot air balloons on a Friday night in February during the Great DSM Hot Air Balloon Hunt in Downtown Des Moines. The event featured hot air balloons on display at dozens of locations across downtown Des Moines as a way to get people out to support local businesses during the ongoing pandemic, which has seen many community events being cancelled and people not venturing out to restaurants and shops as frequently.
