My mother just turned 96 and lives in a a memory care unit. Dementia is a cruel disease, slowly taking away your loved one a piece at a time. She does not remember my father, brother or sister who all passed before her. She sometimes remembers me and my sister on her good days.

The William & Mary Queens' Guard is the official ceremonial color guard and drill team for the university's Army ROTC program. Founded in 1961 following Queen Elizabeth II's 1957 visit, the unit is named in honor of Queen Mary II, Queen Anne, and Queen Elizabeth II. It is part of the national Pershing Rifles fraternity.
