Our old greenhouse, which has been closed to the public for the last 7 years due to safety concerns, is finally slated for demolition to make way for a new building (with a new greenhouse on the roof).  To preserve the impressive specimens within, the plants were all transported to a temporary location, where they'll reside until the new building is completed.  Here a mover is seen moving a large plant out of the greenhouse into the moving truck.

In an effort to help make campus safer for pedestrians, Illinois State University partnered with the Town of Normal, Ty Lin transportation planning, and All Together community engagement to plan and implement quick-build projects.  These projects aim to measure the impact that permanent modifications to busy intersections on campus have on pedestrian safety and traffic; the findings of these studies will be used to make permanent modifications at a later time.  In this image, you can see staff and students painting art on the street to increase crosswalk visibility.  Students are confidently using this long crosswalk now that half of the crosswalk is closed to cars, since the right-turn slipway (the concrete and orange barriers) will remain closed during the study.  Cars and in intimidating truck wait impatiently for their turn to go.
