Image of my sister, Leah Marlene, opening for Peach Pit during our university's homecoming in Fall 2024.  To play in Braden Auditorium, a stage that has been graced by the likes of Prince and Aretha Franklin, was a special experience.  Just a little over a year before this, Leah had just completed a run on American Idol; she tried out just for the hell of it and ended up placing 3rd on the show's 20th season.  Since then, she has continued to use her music platform to promote messages of love and positivity as an outspoken member of the LGBT community.  This year, she's even headlining our city's Pride fest, which is a full-circle moment to do so for the community she grew up in.  To represent this identity visually, I used a prism in front of my lens, angled with the stage lights, to create the light artifact as she sang.
