Andy Herrera 14 horses around with one of his nurses on his birthday in the Ecmo wing, where he spent over a year. Andy was on ECMO for more than a year before receiving his heart transplant. For his birthday he made a trip back to the hospital to visit those that cared for him and provided them with a catered lunch served by his parents and himself. Andy is in need of a kidney transplant too and instead of returning home to his native Dominican Republic he will remain stateside in hopes of a kidney donor soon.
