News and College Life

Midshipmen are heavily involved in many activities including color guard, drill team, Semper Fi and Trident societies, community service, Greek Life, and various club and intramural sports such as basketball, soccer, flag football, and swimming.
NROTCU at the University consists of about 50 midshipmen. Approximately 25% of the midshipmen are female, and 30% of the midshipmen are Marine Option students.

Campus construction update.

During the Annual Halloween House, Abby Wiese poses for the camera during her science demostration.  The event is hosted by the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry's UNI Chapter of the American Chemical Society. UNI students perform Halloween-themed science demonstrations and supervise hands-on activities for youth. Halloween House is held in conjunction with National Chemistry Week and is a program of ACS. The event is free and open to the public.

During Family Weekend, The Chemistry Club held a magic show at McCollum Science Hall. 

This year's homecoming celebration included a riveting fire breathing performance.

Beth Ann Fennelly, the Poet Laureate of Mississippi, visited Savannah as part of Armstrong's Visiting Writer Series.

An education major belays a child during a CAPES! event after school hours.  CAPES!, Children's Adaptive Physical Education Society, links special education students with special needs children in the community for monthly events. During the October CAPES! event candy was hidden on the climbing wall for the children to find.
