Air Force ROTC Cadet Cole Sherman, a junior from Iowa City, kneels near a row of flags. Shortly after sunrise, members of the Air Force ROTC began placing 2,977 flags representing the home countries of victims who perished in the attacks on 9/11. The Field of Flags, located east of Jack Trice Stadium, stood for just the day of September 11.
