On Friday, July 1, Islander biology major and retired Navy Veteran John Clark ’22 presented two United States Flags to the Mary and Jeff Bell Library. The flags were flown on two Navy ships with ties to the events of 9-11, the USS New York and the USS Carl Vinson. The university was presented with the flags and certificates verifying the dates and locations the flags flew. The flags will be kept by the special collections office of the library and will remain a part of the university’s collection.
