Well-known by Bates students, Urueta, who is an Apache Native American, delivered the annual faculty-staff address at Baccalaureate in 2019. He urged the seniors “to give positive energy to people” so that “they give you positive energy back.”

Jonah Yaffe ’26 of Dallas expressiedhis appreciation for working as a gardening assistant for the Facilities Services staff in the weeks leading up to Commencement. 

 

Yaffe  was photographed  in the vicinity of Chase Hall, where a group of student assistants weeded and planted new flowers. During the photo session, he demonstrated one a newly acquires skill of balancing a rake on his nose. Impressive.

While they might have preferred an escape pod to get away from finals, these students close out the outside world in these study pods at the Sidney Lu Mechanical Engineering Building. The touch of a button opens the study sphere, which includes a wake-up alarm for those who might have launched themselves into too deep a sleep.
