A tribute to endangered whales begins humbly with a practice model as Deke Weaver (in green) leads a team of creatives as they practice a narrative showing a pair of killer whales separating a young blue whale from it's mother. Deke aims to bring the plight of endangered animals to a larger audience through narratives of the real lives of the creatures.  His work has been seen across the world and received numerous major awards.

The CAMO (Campus Movement) crew promised a  15,000 Water Balloon fight and they did not disappoint. Several hundred students participated in the night-time welcome back event and most were soaking wet by the end but at least one balloon failed to burst at short range.
