On November 7th, marking 1 month since the October 7th attacks in Israel, students gathered at a local park to sing, light candles and tell stories about friends who were killed.

Dozens of members of the University community were among the victims.

Tomer Nobel (right) is a faculty member at the Physical Therapy department.
He also had a private clinic on Kibbutz Beeri. During the October 7th attacks, 130 members of the kibbutz were murdered and tens were taken hostage. Tomers clinic was burned to the ground.
Now, together with other volunteers, Tomer is treating evacuees from Kibbutz Be'eri from the confines of a hotel room at the Dead Sea.

Participants used buckets to scoop water into other participant’s team’s canoes. Bin lids were used as shields or to splash water up and lifeguards were in the pool to make sure boats stayed away from the edges of the pool for safety. If a team’s canoe capsized or sunk they were out of the tournament.

Rios Pacheco leads a sunrise ceremony at Weber State University on November 1, 2023. Pacheco is a Northwestern Shoshone/Kewa Pueblo Northwestern Shoshone Spiritual leader, Cultural Analyst and Elder of the tribe. The ceremony was the first event of Weber’s 17th Annual Native Symposium.
