To honor the memory of a university graduate and fallen officer, the university hosts an annual prayer breakfast to honor his death, the death of all the fallen officers for the city, and to raise scholarship funds for the public safety major. Durring this breakfast they do a symbolic empty table ceremony, where they light a candle and place a rose.
