Molly Tank paints in a Calder Art Center studio space as she works on oil paintings for her senior show coming up in March. "Nature is my big inspiration, being from Up North." she said. Tank, of Traverse City, is a BFA major with a minor in environmental sustainability studies.

Three young students from Punto Engaño Elementary in Mactan, Philippines walk home after school. Two of the girls performed for a visiting delegation from the university. The university is partnering with the elementary school to provide new books and study materials for the students. The university president was visiting the school as part of a trip for donors to see where the president spent her childhood.
