With Dia de los Muertes coinciding with UIS's annual International Festival members of the Baile Monarcas dance troupe decided to perform in makeup referencing their Mexican roots. The candle on the head relates to the music and lyrics of the dance.

Student, Jonny Teklit '20, was named “Most Promising Young Poet” by the American Academy of Poets for his piece, “Black Mythology.” We had him write his poem on the light board for a photo that will be featured on the President's Year End Card.
