Anna Williams, an enslaved woman, jumped from a third-story window in an attempt to escape from being sold in the interstate slave trade. Williams' story is being told in the animated short film, 'Anna,' which was produced by a team of scholars. Chris Carter, a Grand Valley State University alumnus, is conducting auditions for “The Wiz” at the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre. Carter, who was a cheerleader and dance major at GVSU, now has focused his attention to choreography and directing.
