Portraits
Posed portraits of individuals or groups, in the studio, on your campus, or elsewhere in a university or college-related situation. The subject must be aware that they are being photographed. Other more candid “portraits” belong in the NEWS & COLLEGE LIFE category. Basic retouching/editing is permitted.
Dr. Nan Cen’s visible-light communications research looks at modulating light – turning it on and off faster than the human eye can comprehend – and using the modulated light for Wi-Fi data transmission. The work could bring high speed internet to many more places and could turn common objects, like streetlights and lamps, into data hot spots.
Aneliese Hebenstreit, an aerospace engineering student, is seen through the unique hypersonic wind tunnel with a mounted object for research. Light is projected through the port using special mirrors and prisms to get data and for observation.
