The baseball team will host an event called Salute to Service for the final series of the regular season. The first 1,000 fans through the gate receive a free baseball American flag t-shirt. The 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment color guard from Fort Campbell will be in attendance to present the colors. The university will also recognize a hero of the game from the Army installation.

For him equipping the students doesn't end with the uniforms, he wants them to feel part of the family and starts every morning at 5 a.m. with his trustee waffle iron making waffles for all of his student workers.
