We are pleased to announce that Think Tank Photo has decided to become a day sponsor for the 2011 UPAA Symposium. While they are still a young company, Think Tank has come to dominate the landscape of camera bag manufacturers. At BYU Photo we are big fans of their products. At last count we had 8 of their bags, 2 belt systems and numerous accessories including their card wallets and rain covers. The Hydrophobia rain cover recently saved my bacon during a 3-day track meet during which it rained the entire time. In addition to the prizes they have provided for the monthly winners Monthly Image Competition, Think Tank has given us several of their products that we will be giving away on Friday June 24th as door prizes. Below is a list of what we will be giving away:

They have also donated a special prize to the Photographer of the Year in the Monthly Image Competition, an Airport Takeoff.
About Think Tank Photo
Think Tank Photo is a group of designers and professional photographers focused on studying how photographers work, and developing inventive new carrying solutions to meet their needs. By focusing on “speed” and “accessibility,” we prepare photographers to Be Ready “Before The Moment,” allowing them to document those historic moments that reflect their personal visions and artistic talents. For some companies, it is only about the product. For us, it is more: It is about supporting photographers doing their job. If we can design products that help photographers travel easier, take pictures faster, and organize their gear more efficiently, then we will have accomplished something beyond the bags themselves.
Think Tank Photo was started in January 2005 by two designers, Doug Murdoch and Mike Sturm, and two photographers, Deanne Fitzmaurice (www.deannefitzmaurice.com) and Kurt Rogers. Deanne Fitzmaurice won the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for photojournalism in 2005, (www.pulitzer.org/works/2005-Feature-Photography).
“Think Tank”, which is defined as an idea producing organization, perfectly describes Think Tank Photo’s company culture and mission of creating inventive new carrying solutions. Think Tank has created a string of inventions since 2005 unmatched by their competitors.
With the introduction of the Multimedia Wired Up Collection, Think Tank continues as the industry leader by being the first company to design a series of products specifically for the new DSLR’s that record still images, video, and audio. The Multimedia Wired Up Collection proves again that listening to working professional photographers and understanding their needs is the catalyst for inventive products.
