Each issue of Bates Magazine is a chance to engage alumni and draw them back to campus, and one of the strongest ways we can do that through the magazine is photography. Let's face it — it's the cover that makes people pick up a magazine, and only then can we snag them with stories and written word. Throughout our magazines, photography is used to share news and updates about campus, kindle readers' nostalgia, and creatively share a bit of knowledge (like our "From a Distance" feature that features far-off photographs peppered with facts about the setting).
